A Dollar dentist has swung into action to help golfers at the Ryder Cup.

Dr Robert ‘Bobby’ Watson, who is principal dentist at Dollar Dental Care, is set to sparkle this week as he helps care for players’ teeth at the prestigious event, held at Gleneagles.

Bobby will be on call for any dental issues that arise during the competition. He will responsible for providing emergency dental treatment for golfers from both the European and USA teams, potentially caring for the likes of Rory McIlroy, Lee Westwood, Justin Rose and Phil Mickelson.

He said, “I’m delighted to have been selected to be part of the Ryder Cup support team this year.

“It’s such a great opportunity to combine my day job with the sport I love, and I’m especially proud to be a part of the Ryder Cup this year as it’s only the second time in history that it’s been staged in Scotland.” Bobby, who has a passion for golf and is a member of the Royal and Ancient Club at St Andrews, graduated from Dundee Dental Hospital in 1980 and has been at the Bridge Street-based practice for over 25 years.
