The winner of this year’s Bag on Tour competition at Dollar’s Delicatessen has finally been announced.

Each year the deli holds a photo competition with patrons asked to take shots of the Dollar Deli jute bag on holiday anywhere in the world.

And following some tough decisions, the team here at the Alloa Advertiser picked Cori Crichton’s entry – a picture of a sun-soaked Tuscan Vinyard.

The winner will now enjoy a three-night stay at Dollar Residence – a luxury five-star apartment set in the foot of The Ochil Hills.

Mandy McCallum Neeson was awarded second placed for her shot of the bag with a pride of lions in Mauritius and will receive a £40 gift voucher for the new Bridge Street Kitchen.

Third place was given to Marion Loisy for her snap of the bag surfing the waves in Guadeloupe and she will be handed a £20 voucher for the deli.

Kerry Prow, owner of the Dollar’s Delicatessen, admits the response to this year’s competition has already got her thinking about next year.

She said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that got involved. We loved seeing the inventiveness and also all the fantastic locations our handy jute bags travelled to.

“We received a large amount of entries and it was very hard to judge. We passed that hard task over to the Alloa Advertiser team.

“We would also like to thank Alexander Residence in Dollar for sponsoring the top prize.

“It is a property that we are very familiar with as we provide the welcome hampers to the guests on their arrival on a regular basis.” She added: “With the success of the competition we will no doubt run something similar next summer.

“With the introduction of a 5p charge for all plastic bags this week, we are already seeing more Dollar’s Deli jute bags on our high street and farther afield.”
