ANOTHER successful Music in Dollar season will come to a close on Saturday 21 March.

There will be a brass ensemble comprising the best of young Scottish brass musicians, with all players currently students at the Royal Conservatiore of Scotland, performing in the Gibson Hall at Dollar Academy.

Julian Reeves from Dollar Music Society said: “Only the most talented students are offered places at the conservatoire, so we are guaranteed an excellent performance.

“It’s particularly appropriate that we finish a season that has included many established performers with some of the stars of the future coming together to play a unique concert for us in Dollar.” The ensemble will perform pieces by composers such as Bizet, Elgar and Dougie MacLean, originally famed for writing the song ‘Caledonia’.

The concert will last about two hours, with wine and soft drinks served during the interval, and it starts at 7.30pm, with doors opening at 7pm.

Tickets for the concert in Dollar are just £10 per adult and are available on the door, while accompanied children are admitted free.
