Following a series of thefts from a number of vehicles in Clackmannanshire over the weekend, Police Scotland officers are reminding local people to be vigilant.

The thefts happened around Alloa, Tillicoultry and most recently in Dollar, where it is understood that valuable power tools were stolen from a van overnight Sunday into Monday.

Local community policing Sergeant Cathy Sharkey said: “Three incidents of theft occurred to vehicles parked in the Alloa, Tillicoultry and Dollar areas over the weekend.

“At this time, there’s nothing to suggest that these incidents are linked. However we’d like to remind people to be vigilant in ensuring that their vehicles are locked at all times, and that valuables are removed overnight.

“Report all suspicious activity to officers via 101, and call 999 if you see a crime in progress. Anyone with information about these thefts is asked to contact police or make an anonymous report through the charity Crimestoppers via 0800 555 111.”

Police is also advising people to keep valuables out of sight and to keep car keys out of easy reach of doors.
