A DOLLAR ACADEMY pupil's stunning drawing has been on display recently at a London gallery after it was selected by judges at a UK-wide art competition.
FIII pupil Heather Dillon's skills in drawing wildlife were recognised when her drawing of a tiger was commended in the 2016 WildArt competition, organised and run jointly by the RSPB and the Society of Wildlife Artists, in the 13-18 years category.
Her success meant her work was exhibited in the Mall Galleries in London, with the budding young artist delighted to learn she had been awarded recognition in a competition, which saw many entries from across the nation.
She said: “Entering the competition was quite exciting. I’ve never entered a competition like it before.
“My technique would not be the same without all the help I’ve had from the Dollar Academy art department. I’ve definitely grown as an artist over the years here at school.”
