WINNING their second major RSPBA title of the season, the Dollar Academy Pipe Band scooped another prestigious accolade two weeks ago.
They became UK Champions in the Juvenile Grade on a sunny day in Belfast on Saturday, June 10.
Also performing well were the academy's Novice A band, who managed to take the bottom step of the podium in the Novice Juvenile event.
The successes did not stop there as the following day both bands performed at the Scottish Schools CCF Championships at George Heriot's School in Edinburgh, with the Juvenile Band again taking first place.
A number of youngsters also won solo awards at the event, including FV pupil Katie MacDonald who received the intermediate piping award and Finlay Cameron, FIV, who finished third on the senior piping event.
FIII student Andrew Ferguson and FII youngster Ruairidh Brown finished as runners-up in the intermediate and junior piping contests respectively.
A number of drummers had a successful day in the solo contests as well.
Both JII, Mark Bathgate won the junior drumming event while Mark Rodger took bronze.
James Taylor finished third in intermediate drumming and Cameron McCall, both FV, won the senior drumming event as well as the bugling competition.
