PEOPLE can celebrate the lives of loved ones lost through the Another Way to Remember Walk, which will have its starting point in Clackmannanshire.

The annual sponsored event, now in in its second year, will take in parts of the Devon Way and the Hillfoots Diamond Jubilee Way between Dollar and Stirling next month.

The Another Way to Remember walk is being organised by Jo Dallas, in memory coordinator at Christian Aid, who is keen to establish an annual walking event in Scotland allowing time for remembrance.

She said: “Most of us have lost a loved one or dear friend at some point in our lives and sometimes we struggle to find the space to pause, reflect and celebrate their lives.

“The Another Way to Remember walk offers an opportunity for people to do something positive, in beautiful surroundings, to remember that person.

“At the start of the walk everyone receives a small candle. When we reach the end of the 10 mile route, at Logie Kirk, we will light these candles in memory of the loved ones we have been remembering during the walk.”

Iain Ogilive, who lives in Dollar, took part last year and is planning to participate again on Saturday, September 2.

He said: “My wife Catriona and I really enjoyed taking part last year.

“Once again we will be walking in memory of some very special people in our lives, who are no longer with us.

“We are also long-term supporters of Christian Aid, so taking part in the walk and raising money, which will support Christian Aid’s work in some of the poorest communities in the world, makes good sense to us.”
