DISADVANTAGED kids in Stirling and the Forth Valley are set to receive a major boost thanks to Radio Forth’s Cash for Kids charity, and a generous local business.

Financial consultancy De Beul Kerr has signed up as the organisation’s new corporate supporter in the city and has raised almost £5,000 for good causes.

The donation went to the Cash for Kids Mission Christmas appeal and has so far contributed to Christmas parties and gifts for over 30 vulnerable children.

Janice Beaton, chief officer at support for families, said: “As a result of Radio Forth’s Cash for Kids’ support we were able to put a huge smile on everyone’s face this year.

“Although one woman who has severe health issues and living in homeless accommodation with her 3 children sobbed and sobbed, we arrived at her home with Christmas presents all nicely wrapped and labelled with everyone’s names on.

“She had already told her children Santa could only bring one gift this year, and she was so overwhelmed when we arrived at her home with the gifts.”

Brian Kerr, director at De Beul Kerr, said: “We’re really proud to see the support and help being given to the children here in our local area, and also the cash raised being put to such a great direct impact.

“Our aim is to support all areas of the local community and by helping Cash for Kids it makes a real difference to people and a real boost to these families.”
