Two new babies check-in on Christmas Day

LOUISE Balderston from Alloa gave birth to to Clackmannanshire"s first baby on Christmas Day - 7lb 15oz Tyler.

The bouncing baby boy kept everyone waiting as Louise was due on 19 December.

She told the Advertiser, 'I went into labour at about 2am and I ended up having Tyler at 8.04 am.

'He decided to keep everyone waiting a bit as I was due six days earlier. When I went past my due date everyone kept rubbing my tummy saying that he was going arrive on Christmas Day and it turned out they were right.

'It certainly made Christmas all that more special and he is doing really well. We were allowed home on Boxing Day so I had my Christmas dinner then.'

And Lisa Coutts from Tillicoultry certainly won"t forget Christmas day in a hurry after the arrival of the county"s second Christmas Day baby - a girl Lexi, who weighed in at 7lbs 13oz.

Lisa was enjoying Christmas day with her family at the Cross Keys in Alva but had to leave at about 6pm because her contractions were becoming stronger.

And to make the day even more memorable it was Lisa"s cousin Alana Harrower who delivered baby Lexi and her aunt, Helen Coutts, who was the nurse on duty in the maternity ward.

Lisa told the Advertiser, 'I had being getting contractions all morning but I wanted to keep the day as normal as possible for everyone else so went to the Cross Keys for a family dinner.

'I was a bit worried that I was going to be in hospital on Christmas morning because she was six days late but at least I managed to hold off.

'It got to about 6pm and I had to leave because the contractions were getting worse and I had Lexi at 8.58 pm, so it was relatively quick.

'When my partner Richard phoned the hospital we realised that it was my cousin Alana who was on duty and when we got there she asked if I minded that she was the midwife who delivered the baby.

'And then when I got on to the ward it was my aunt who came through to check on us, which was a bit of a shock.'

Lisa was home with Lexi on Boxing Day with and is now surrounded by family including doting dad Richard and Lexi"s delighted big sister Lisha.

'Lexi is absolutely perfect and she is a really contented baby. This Christmas certainly won"t be one I will forget in a hurry,' added Lisa.
