ALLOA Bowmar piper Jimmy Weir celebrated being named in the Queen's New Year's honour list by playing at Sauchie Halls Hogmanay bash, hosted by Clackmannanshire's Provost.
Jimmy, a lecturer at Forth Valley College, was awarded an OBE for services to further education in Clackmannanshire.
Provost Derek Stewart congratulated him on his OBE and enjoyed listening to the skirl of the pipes as Jimmy performed with the Alloa Bowmar Pipe Band for a night of music and celebration.
And the sound of people singing Auld Land Syne could be heard across the Wee County as parties were held to mark the start of the new decade.
Young and old dressed to impress at Sauchie Community Group's new year party, which proved to be a fun night for all, and Alloa Town Hall was full of festive cheer as kilt-clad locals danced their way into 2010.
