CONSTABLES Niall Chisholm and Craig Hamilton are keen to hear from the residents of Alloa South and East.
A COMMUNITY police office in Alloa's Mar Policies is to become a focal point for local residents - with drop-in clinics being held every Wednesday.
The station, in Scott Crescent, was under consideration for closure but Central Scotland Police decided to keep the station open.
Constables Niall Chisholm and Craig Hamilton are responsible for the Alloa South and East beat and are keen to hear from members of the public about issues in the area and their thoughts on what policing priorities should be.
Niall is taking over from PC Ally Jackson who is moving on to take up another role in the force. Niall and Craig are the first point of contact for community policing in the area.
Craig said, "A key part of our engagement with the public will be the regular Wednesday afternoon policing surgery between 2pm and 4pm.
"We hope as many people as possible make use the opportunity.
"We are keen to hear people's views on how we can work together to make this part of Alloa safer for everyone."
Niall added, "I am really looking forward to getting my teeth into the issues which impact on the community, ranging from low level disorder and anti-social behaviour, to drug supply and more serious forms of criminality which can have a negative effect on the quality of life in a particular area."
Clackmannanshire area commander, Superintendent Alan Douglas, said the introduction of a new officer in the area was an ideal opportunity to place a renewed focus on how the public in Alloa South and East and the police could make a positive difference.
He added, "We're keen that the Scott Crescent becomes a real focus point for the community.
"It's been under-used by the public and while I am keen my officers are as visible in the community as possible in terms of being out and about on patrol, they will be more widely available than previously at the community police office.
"I would urge local people to take the opportunity to speak to their local officers when they can - be that out on patrol or when they are at Scott Crescent."
