TRIBUTES to Kevin Kippen lie at the scene of the accident in Dunfermline.

A 21-YEAR-OLD man from Sauchie has been tragically killed in a car crash in Dunfermline.

Kevin Kippen died after his BMW collided with a Land Rover at 9.45pm on Sunday evening on Halbeath Road.

The driver of the Land Rover suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident and Fife Police are investigating the circumstances of the collision.

One resident in Halbeath Road who lives near the crash scene, said, "When it happened the house shook, and we thought somebody had hit the wall outside our house because it's happened twice since we moved in here.

"My husband went out and tried to help but it was chaos. We knew from the state of the car he was never going to survive. My husband said for him to hang on in there. It was really quite sad.

"We never slept and when I got up at the back of four the car was still there."

Another neighbour added, "We were sitting in the conservatory through the back of the house, where we hear no noise, when we heard this huge crash.

"We ran upstairs and saw a BMW car which was totally demolished."

Heartfelt tributes have been left at the crash scene by friends and family.

One card read, "The family will never be the same without you pal."

Another says, "I couldn't of asked for a better friend or to of known a better guy.

"The memories we shared together will always be with me."

A third message reads, "Can't believe you've been taken from us. We will never forget you."

Inspector Brenda Sinclair, from Fife Police, appealed for any witnesses who may have been in the area of the crash to contact them.

She added, "Crash Investigators are currently piecing together the circumstances surrounding an incident whereby the driver of a white BMW motor car was fatally injured after it collided with a Land Rover motor car.

"In an effort to assist our investigations, I would ask that anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward."

Witnesses should contact Fife Police on 01592 251111.
