GUIDES from Clackmannanshire came together to mark 100 years of Guiding in the UK at 'G in the Park' in the Lendrick Muir Centre in Rumbling Bridge.

There were over 650 people attending the action-packed weekend including specially invited guests all of whom have an interest in the movement and County Commissioner Tricia Devenport, who welcomed everyone.

The camp saw 250 Brownies, 100 Rainbows and 140 from the Guides and Senior Section along with leaders and other adults who had the task of keeping everyone in order.

During the camp each girl had the chance to take part in drumming, singing and dancing workshops in preparation for the Saturday afternoon extravaganza, which was performed in front of guests amongst flags and colours from each unit.

Other activities during the weekend included pond dipping, circus skills, climbing, football, craft, archery and mountain biking along with an adventure playground.

In the evening the girls, leaders and other volunteers all gathered round the camp fire for some traditional games and fun.

County Commissioner Tricia Davenport told the Advertiser, "It was a wonderful weekend and all the girls were buzzing with excitement all weekend long.

"The camp was a tremendous success and every town and village in the County was represented.

"One of the things the girls look forward to the most is staying over and whilst the Guides camped all weekend the Brownies stayed overnight in the house we have.

"It was also a chance for the girls to mix and socialise with Brownies and Guides from other packs and their friends. Also, it was lovely for the people who visited who had been involved in Guiding in the past as it gave them an opportunity to see Guiding as it is today."
