DRUG dealers throughout the Wee County are continuing to be targeted following a series of police raids over the past week.

Pushers in Alloa, Clackmannan, Fishcross and Sauchie have had their stash seized by Central Scotland Police who have paid tribute to the help provided my members of the community.

Early last Wednesday morning six homes in Alloa were raided by community police officers. Quantities of cannabis and amphetamine, with an estimated street value of several hundred pounds, were recovered from four addresses in Alloa Park and two in Hutton Park.

As a result, four people have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal for various offences under the misuse of drugs act.

Constable Niall Chisholm, local community officer for Alloa South and East, said, "My number one priority this month was drug dealing.

"These raids were successful because the local community officers have been taking on board the concerns of the residents and the residents in turn have been good enough to come to us with information that they knew would help.

"It's vital that we continue to work with the community so we can act quickly, ensure their needs are met and make them feel secure in the area where they live or work.

"Remember, if we don't know about it, we can't act on it." Two 21-year-olds males and a 34-year-old male have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal after two search warrants led to the recovery of illegal drugs in Clackmannan last Friday. A 23-year-old male was also arrested in conjunction with the operation.

On the same day Class B drugs were discovered at a property in Schaw Court, Sauchie, following a tip off from members of the public. A 19-year-old was due to appear at Alloa Sheriff Court in connection with the offence.

And last Tuesday a small cannabis cultivation was found at an address in Fishcross. The plants were seized and police say a 35-year-old male will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

Community Policing Sergeant, Craig Rankine, said, "We need to get the message out there that drug dealing will be tackled, not tolerated.

"Drugs are a blight on communities and our officers are working hard to make sure the communities they cover are safe places to live and work.

"We won't tolerate the few people who choose to live a life of crime and ruin the lives of others." At Beechwood in Sauchie, two male youths from the Tullibody area, aged 13 and 15, were found to be in possession of cannabis resin. Both have been reported to the Children's Reporter.

Anyone with information on drug dealers in their area can contact their community officer or the police on 01786 456000 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
