The street in Dollar where the girl was forced into a car.

POLICE are hunting for a man who abducted a 14-year-old girl from Dollar and subjected her to a terrifying sexual assault on Monday.

The girl was walking along High Street and Hillfoots Road in the village at around 8.20am when she was approached by the man who forced her into his car.

Detective Inspector Ronnie Isles, from Central Scotland Police, said, "She was indecently assaulted and then ordered out of the car which was parked in a farm track just off the B910 in an area near to Linn Mill - near to the A977 Kinross to Gartarry Road.

"She flagged down a passing motorist on the B910 who raised the alarm.

"The young girl is obviously distressed and we have specialist officers working with her."

The man has been described as being in his mid-30s, around 5ft 8in tall, with short receding hair and bad facial skin. The car was green and possibly had four doors.

DI Isles added, "These type of incidents are extremely rare and we appeal for anyone who may have seen the girl get into a green car in the High Street, Hillfoots Road area to contact us.

"We also appeal for anyone who may have seen the green four door car in the area."

High Street, Hillfoots Road, a layby on the A977 and the B910 were cordoned off afterwards whilst police carried out enquiries.

On Tuesday morning police officers undertook high visibility patrols in the village to provide reassurance to local people.

Door-to-door enquiries are being carried out and CCTV footage from the area is also being studied.

Motorists near Lind Mill were also being stopped and spoken to as part of road side checks asking drivers if they could provide any extra details.

Anyone with information should contact Central Scotland Police on 01786 456000 or information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
