Stephanie Armitage hopes to make a big impression dancing on Don't Stop Believing.

A Tullibody teenager is hoping to dance and sing her way to success in FIVE's new television programme "Don't Stop Believing".

Stephanie Armitage (16) is part of dance troupe BLOK and is calling on the Wee County viewers to help them to gain enough public votes to make it through to the finals.

The dancers from Central Scotland, who are the official Rangers FC cheerleaders, will compete against five other groups in the live semi-final of the Glee-inspired show on Sunday at 7pm.

The programme is presented by ex-Spice Girl Emma Bunton and counts popstar Anastacia and Emmy award-winning choreographer of High School Musical, Charles "Chucky" Klapow, among its panel of judges.

BLOK features 15 singers and dancers and is fronted by former X Factor finalist Nikitta Angus. The group is one of only 30 acts, out of thousands across the UK, to go in front of the cameras after a successful audition in Glasgow.

Stephanie, who has been with the troupe for almost two years, said, "I was a wee bit nervous just before we went on in Glasgow but I'm used to performing in front of big crowds at Ibrox so when we started dancing it was fine. I'm terrified about Sunday though just for the fact that it's live on TV."

Training has been constant for the past few weeks as the dancers prepare for the show.

Stephanie went on, "Nikitta has been supportive with us as she knows all about vocals, an area we're not quite as experienced in, and it's been working really well. We fly down on Thursday and then we will be practising all day on Friday and Saturday before the show on Sunday."

The Lornshill Academy pupil caught the first show last Sunday and was impressed by the competition.

She said, "I thought the acts were really good. We need to step it up this week so we can do our best for Sunday as that's all we can do. I've been telling people all about it on facebook and we need everyone to get on the phones for us."

BLOK was formed by manager Kay Lang through her dance company Kay Klass Hip Hop and Street School of Dance.

They have performed at many events throughout the UK including Glam in the City with Gok Wan, Colours dance festival and BBC Sports Relief.
