Cameron Neilson has denied being involved in drink fuelled antics at Simon Cowell's mansion.
AN Alloa singer through to X-Factor’s boot camp with boy band 'Princes and Rogues’ has denied the group was involved in a drink-fuelled demolition of Simon Cowell’s Marbella villa.
Mr Nasty himself, and fellow judge Louis Walsh, voted Cameron Neilson and his band through to boot camp at the London auditions after they impressed with their rendition of 'Forever is Over’ by the Saturdays.
But the boys were caught up in a media storm last week after Cowell chastised his groups for causing thousands of pounds in damage to his £15,000 a night rented villa after a night on the town.
Cameron told the Advertiser his group was hard at it in Spain - not boozing, though, but filming and auditioning the whole time.
He continued, “I think when I was at Simon’s villa in Marbella that maybe it was all blown out of proportion by the press. I didn’t have one drink while we were filming.”
Focusing on the competition, the X Factor hopeful says he’s learning something new every day and loving every minute of it.
“It has been the most amazing thing I have ever done mixed in with the most stressful and intense and longest days ever.
“When I was sat at home last year on the sofa I really didn’t realise what people go through on the show,” he said.
“Myself and the band have learnt that firstly being yourself is key in a competition and in life, we realised no matter who you are you can achieve what you set out to do.”
The 25-year-old added, “When you see us at boot-camp you will see how we have changed from our first audition into the 'geek chic’ band we are now, and how we changed a few words around in our songs we performed to suit one of the judges.
“I can’t say any more than that. You will have to watch to see what we did”
Made up of five members, the band includes 29-year-old Johnny Lloyd, who was previously thrown off the show back in 2006 as part of boy band Avenue because he’d previously signed a management deal without informing Simon and the other judges.
