ALLOA ATHLETIC supporters at Hampden Park on Saturday, where they watched their side win 2-1 against Queen's Park. But some teenagers were refused entry to the National Stadium.

A GROUP of young Alloa Athletic fans were refused entry to Saturday's clash away to Queen's Park.

The teenagers travelled by train to the match at Hampden in Glasgow but were turned away at the gates.

It is understood that they may have been among several fans reported for unruly behaviour by British Transport Police and are currently banned from Wasps' home ground, Recreation Park.

An angry mum, whose 16-year-old son was turned away, accused the Alloa chairman Mike Mulraney of being behind the refusal.

A spokesman for the Alloa football club described the accusation as "absolute balderdash".

The mum said, "My son rarely goes to Alloa, he has a season ticket at Rangers and they didn't play till Sunday, so he thought he would go support Alloa.

"I don't know if it was because there was around eight to 10 of them in one group that some how posed a threat but I am utterly disgusted.

"My son has never been in any trouble at school or with the police so I am horrified that young people can actually be treated in this way."

A spokesman for British transport police said that around 30 fans intending to travel from Central Station before the match were removed from the train and told to make alternative arrangements to the stadium.

An Alloa Athletic spokesman denied Mr Mulraney's involvement but did confirm that a group of teenage Alloa fans were currently suspended from Recreation Park due to their behaviour.

He explained, "The over exuberance of a small group of kids requires an appropriate and balanced reaction from the club.

"It has resulted in the club having to suspend them.

"Until such times that representatives of the group come to speak to us about the standards of behaviour required they will remain suspended."
