A DOLLAR triathlete came second in the gruelling Celtman Extreme Scottish Triathlon - which has been noted as one of the world's toughest races.

Sean McFarlane took on the inaugural Celtman bringing home an impressive time of 12 hours and 11 minutes, only two minutes behind the winner.

Competitors of the event - based in Torridon, north west of Scotland - were required to swim three kilometres in a water temperature of just over 10 degrees before biking 204 kilometres, finishing with a marathon which took in two 3000 feet summits.
