Gean's great garden opens
GEAN House is set to open its gate and garden.
In association with Scotland's Gardens, with kind permission from Ceteris (Scotland), the Alloa estate will welcome members of the public to tour its grounds and take in the breathtaking scenery.
Gean House is an early 20th century Arts and Crafts style mansion.
On arrival the sweeping driveway from the main road takes you through beautiful parkland lined with trees.
The gardens surrounding the house were originally 40 acres and included a Japanese garden in the woods. Seven acres remain on the southern and eastern side.
Scotland's Gardens Scheme (SGS) is a registered charity that raises funds for other worthy charities by facilitating the opening of large and small gardens of horticultural interest throughout the country to the public.
The gardens that open for SGS are mostly privately owned and are normally inaccessible to the public at other times.
Proceeds from this opening will be donated to the Scottish Society for Autism and Scotland's Gardens Charities.
Gean House gardens will be open on Tuesday 31 July, 2-5pm. Admission £4, children free. There will be cream teas in the house and dogs on a lead are allowed.
