Brickwork in line for global award
FORTH Valley College's new state-of-the-art campus in Alloa has been short-listed for a 2012 Brick Award.
The new campus and Stirling-campus are amongst other finalists from the Netherlands, India and Thailand in the 'Worldwide Brick' category.
The annual Brick Awards, run by the National Brick Association, are one of the longest established and most widely respected design awards in the UK.
The 'Worldwide Brick' category is open to entries from around the world and considers all aspects of design and craftsmanship - particularly recognising the architects, brick manufacturer and specialist brick contractor for each project.
Forth Valley College's campuses were designed by Scottish architects Reiach and Hall using Peterson Tegl bricks.
MBBC were the brick contractors for the projects.
Tom Gorman, director of estates said, "We're delighted that our Stirling and Alloa campuses have been short-listed for this prestigious award. Our new campuses have been designed to the highest specification and offer inspiring, state-of-the-art learning environments. It's fantastic to have their calibre recognised on such a high profile platform."
