CLACKMANNAN Ranger Volunteers were hard at work sprucing up Gartmorn Dam ahead of the tercentenary celebrations which start later this week.

Under the supervision of Clackmannanshire rangers, Euan and Lisa, the group set out around the dam on Wednesday 17 July armed with tools for pruning and lifting litter.

Issues - such as a dead swan and faulty life belt - were spotted and dealt with and a number of rubbish bags and abadoned tent frames were cleared away by the end of the day.

A special programme of events have been organised to mark 300 years of the dam, beginning on Friday 26 July, and more information can be found online at Clacks Web.
