Friends Ashley Learmouth (19) from Sauchie, Lucy Campbell (19) and Katie Reynolds (20) from Alloa are looking forward to perfecting their cut and blow dry on the two year course at the College's Alloa Campus.
"We've all had experience of working in hairdressers but getting properly qualified will make a big difference to the type of jobs we can do, I'm really looking forward to learning some new skills," said Katie.
Ashley added, "I had a great time on the nail services course last year so I'm looking forward to expanding my health and beauty qualifications."
The college is matriculating around 3500 new students this year with courses at Alloa ranging from construction trades to social care qualifications, salon services and business qualifications.
"The first day is always filled with a mixture of trepidation and excitement but I can guarantee all our new students that they are embarking on career that has no ceiling," said college principal, Dr Ken Thomson
"Our students are at the heart of everything we do here. All our courses are specifically designed to progress our students in jobs that are in demand or on to further academic study. I wish them all the very best and look forward to charting their progress over the coming years."
Students at Forth Valley are able to move from access courses in salon services all the way through to HND in beauty therapy and on to degree level qualifications.
