WORKERS at the Diageo whisky plants in Menstrie and Cambus were left speechless when footballing hero David Beckham popped by for a visit.

The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and England star was given a private viewing of the plant’s 500,000 bottles along with close friend and Pop Idol creator, Simon Fuller.

Staff at Menstrie’s Blackgrange warehouse and the cooperage site at Cambus, were said to be “stunned” when Becks strolled in.

A spokesperson from Diageo said, “Every day we welcome visitors from around the world to our historic Scotch whisky sites.

“We were delighted to host a private visit by David Beckham while he was in Scotland with Simon Fuller, who is a good friend of Diageo.”

It’s thought Beckham is currently enjoying a break in Gleneagles.
