St Mungo’s Parish Church of Scotland: A Reflections Service will take place in the church tonight (Wednesday) at 7pm as part of the Holy Week Services. The Sunday School children are asked to bring in a decorated boiled egg on Sunday, where prizes will be awarded for the best design. Alloa Ludgate Church: This week Ludgate Church will be taking part in the Holy Week Services held in the various churches throughout Alloa. On Monday a Labyrinth Service will be held in the church at 7pm. Also at Ludgate Church will be a Good Friday Evening Service at 7pm. On Easter Sunday Rev. Jim Cochrane will lead the Easter Morning Sunrise Service at Gartmorn Dam at 6am with all age worship at Alloa Ludgate Church at 10.30am. Dollar’s Episcopal Church - St James the Great: The church in Harvieston Road has a tightly packed schedule for Holy Week leading up to Easter Day. Everyone is welcome to share in any one or in all of the services. Later in the evening, a Tenebrae Service will be held in the Abbey at 7pm. A special short service will be held at 8am on Easter Sunday followed by breakfast in the hall. MENSTRIE Menstrie Parish Church: The service on Palm Sunday involved the children in procession around the church waving palm branches and the sermon was the story of two processions, one the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, humbly riding on a donkey. The other was the procession signifying the imperial power of the Roman Empire. We are challenged to choose which procession we would have been in, the one signifying the power and glitter of the world or the power and glory of God. Holy Week Services are taking place this week. SAUCHIE Sauchie Branch SNP: April’s meeting of Sauchie Branch SNP was held in the usual venue of the upstairs lounge of the Mansfield Arms, Sauchie on Tuesday 1 April. In the absence of convener Jim Mitchell, the meeting was chaired by branch organiser Gaynor Preston. The meeting was informed of the latest new members to have joined the branch, members also heard that the branch was still financially sound, a report was also given of the work of branch members who were also devoting their time to helping with the Yes Clacks Campaign, whose efforts continue to be stepped up on a weekly basis. Council Gary Womersley then delivered the monthly councillors report before taking questions from the members.

Sauchie and Coalsnaughton Parish Church: Rev. Margaret Shuttleworth conducted the service on Sunday 13 April. The Scripture lesson was Phillipians Ch2, v5-11. In her sermon Rev. Shuttleworth told the congregation that on Palm Sunday Jesus made a clear signal as to who He was but demonstrated that He wanted everyone to come together in love, prayer and service to one another. Anyone wishing to join the Strollers today (Wednesday) 16 April should meet at the Beechwood bus stop at 1pm to catch the bus to Dollar. Everyone is welcome to go along to the Easter Services on Thursday 17 April at 7pm (in UF Church), Friday 18 April at 7 pm and Sunday 20 April at 10.30 am. Sauchie & Fishcross UF Church: On Thursday the United Maundy Thursday Communion Service will take place at 7pm in the UF Church. This is followed on Friday by the United Good Friday Service at 7pm in the Parish Church. On Sunday, Easter Day Services take place at 11am and 6.30pm. The next coffee morning will be held on Saturday 26 April from 10am until noon in the hall. Entrance is by donation, with all proceeds being given to the McKenzie-Furniss Appeal. Tillicoultry Toddler Group: The toddlers are holding a fundraising bingo tea in Tillicoultry Bowling Club on Wednesday 30 April, doors open 6.30pm. Entry £1. The toddlers group have daily sessions except a Thursday in the Ben Cleuch Centre, sessions £2 per session, 50p for babies and for second sibling. Sessions run from 9.30am to 11.15am.
