THE Scout Hall in Sauchie has also fallen victim to theft.
Strips of lead on the roof of the building – owned and used by Alloa and Sauchie Scout Group – were taken.
Neil Wilson, group leader, explained how he spotted they were gone, “They had ripped some of the tiles off and the concrete from the tiles had fallen into the gutter. It was the lump of concrete in the gutter that caught my eye.
“I borrowed ladders from the neighbour and went up and saw what had happened and reported it, and got in touch with some of the parents.
“Some of the parents rallied around and got a repair in place quickly, so thanks to them.” A guesstimate for the full repair stands at £150-£200.
Neil said, “Once we have effected that full repair it’s money that could have been spent on the kids or other, more needed, parts of the hall.”
