DOLLAR’S Hillfoot Harmony has turned 10.

Singers celebrated the 10th anniversary of the capella chorus, with a dazzling evening of entertainment in the Castle Campbell Hotel towards the end of last month.

The event – attended by members of the chorus – saw those in tenor, base, baritone and lead sections showcase some of their talents at the ‘birthday party’.

Team leader, Thea Adamson, said, “It was a great success – they all thoroughly enjoyed themselves and had a great night.” Hillfoot Harmony began in 2004 with a small group of keen ladies and has since grown to become a 34-strong group.

It puts on many performances and has taken on competitions such as the International Barbershop Convention, Quartet of Nations Sweet Adeline regional competition and much more.

It has come a long way since it first started and is about team work, as much as singing.

Thea said, “We are a group of ladies who just love singing. It’s unaccompanied four-part singing which can be quite challenging, but it’s great fun and it’s quite an amazing group of women to sing with.

“We are just preparing for a regional competition which is being held down in Nottingham. It’s at the beginning of May so we are preparing for that at the moment.”
