Alloa Spiritualist: The medium on Sunday was Ewan Irvine from Edinburgh. His talk was about the journeys of life. There were 23 people present and five messages were given. There was a cup of tea. Alloa Christian Outreach: Rev. Norman Rollo was the speaker at the last meeting. His subject was “Who is this”? from Matthew 21.10. St Mungo’s Parish Church of Scotland: The Easter Service on Sunday was introduced by a six foot tall Easter Bunny, complete with furry suit and basket of eggs, which caused a lot of laughter in the church. The Sunday School children brought along their brightly coloured boiled eggs to be judged for the prize of a large Easter Egg. The Quiz Night is this Friday 25 April, in the Claremont Lodge Hotel at 7.30pm. Some tickets, £3 for adults and £1 for children are still available from David Mudie. The Hooper Cup for match pointed pairs was again won by Dorothy Coulter and Alex Anderson - runners-up were Kit and David Gow. The Club Champion for the year was Ross Whitehouse, with Tom Sommerville and Ken Ross tying for second place, followed by Kit and David in third place. Dollar Episcopal Church, St James the Great: The church in Harvieston Road was ablaze with flowers last Sunday to celebrate the advent of Easter. A large congregation came together to enjoy a feast of music and singing in a church lit by perfect sunshine on a glorious Easter Day. Afterwards there was an Easter egg hunt in the grounds for the young people while the rest of the congregation enjoyed coffee and time to relax and chat together. Services in the coming week revert to normal with an informal Communion on Thursday morning in the Parish Rooms at 9.45am and on Sunday two services at 8.30am and 10.30am. All are welcome. Sauchie and Coalsnaughton Parish Church: Rev. Margaret Shuttleworth conducted the service on Sunday 20 April. The Scripture lessons were Psalm 118, v1-2, 14-24 and John Ch20 v1-18. In her sermon Rev. Shuttleworth told the congregation that Easter is not a day or a season but a present reality that changes things for today and for all eternity. It marks our relationship with God and our working God’s purpose out in our lives and being blessed.
