Bikers in Forth Valley are being warned of the dangers of riding motorcycles without protective clothing following two serious road collisions.
Enquiries are underway after a 23-year-old man sustained serious injuries when his unregistered off-road Pit bike struck a dog on a footpath in a public park in Denny just after midnight on Saturday 21 June.
And in a separate incident, a 22-year-old man suffered serious injuries when his registered Yamaha bike collided with a car on a public road in Avonbridge at around 8.30pm on Sunday night (22 June).
In both incidents the injured men were not wearing any protective clothing and Police Scotland officers have warned against further incidents.
Sergeant David Ross of the Forth Valley’s Divisional Road Policing Unit, said, “The two young men involved in the road collisions at the weekend sustained serious injuries largely because they were not dressed appropriately. Furthermore, they should remember that riding unregistered motorbikes on roads or other public places is illegal, not to mention highly dangerous.”
