Strathcarron Hospice is hoping to raise thousands of pounds in funds after receiving an off the cuff donation from rock icon Rod Stewart.

The donation, consisting of a signed white silk jacket, came following a concert held by the singer at Falkirk Stadium in June, in which he was left overwhelmed by the reaction from his Scottish fans.

The Forth Valley charity, known for providing specialist palliative care to residents from across the Forth Valley, have since launched a world-wide “silent auction” in a bid to raise at least £5000 in funds from the singers donation.

Angela Gillies, Marketing & Communications Manager said, “This jacket was specially made for the Rod Stewart Stadium Tour 2014 and I’m sure it will be much sought after by Rod Stewart fans around the world.

“We are very grateful to Rod Stewart for his support as the hospice needs to raise over £75,000 each week to provide the vital care required by our patients and their families, both at the hospice and out in the communities we serve.” If you want to “Wear It Well” and help a deserving charity then this piece of rock memorabilia could be for you!

The jacket has a reserve price of £5000 and bids can be made via the hospice website at www.strathcarronhospice.org or by calling 01324 826222. Closing date for bids 12 September.
