The general manager of the Forth Valley CCTV Partnership has been suspended from duty following a police investigation.

Abda Ali has been reported to the procurator fiscal on a matter relating to the handling of financial resources.

She has been in her position for more than five and half years, responsible for the management of business development, overall revenue generation, budget accountability, and operational performance.

A Police Scotland spokesman confirmed: “Following an investigation, a 30-year-old woman is the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal.” A spokesperson for Clackmannanshire Council added: “We are aware of the allegations against the CCTV manager. It would be inappropriate to comment further on an active police investigation.” The Forth Valley CCTV Partnership consists of the local authorities in Clackmannanshire, Stirling and Falkirk, as well as Police Scotland.

Earlier this year, officials from Clackmannanshire Council announced their intention to withdraw from the partnership.

The spokesperson added: “The Forth Valley CCTV Partnership is in the course of breaking up.

“We gave notice of our intention to leave the partnership in March 2015 some months ago.

“We are currently looking into alternatives and are reviewing both the cost associated with CCTV coverage and the impact which it makes upon crime and security in Clackmannanshire.”
