ATC cadets from three local squadrons have marched their way to the top once again after winning the Armed Forces Day drill competition for the sixth consecutive year.

Thirteen cadets from 1019 Stirling Squadron, 2284 Dunblane Squadron and 383 Alloa Squadron, competed against the Army Cadets from the Royal Regiment of Scotland ACF at Stirling’s annual event in Kings Park last Saturday in front of over 100 people watching from around the park’s central arena. The team – chosen by their squadron leaders through several practice training sessions - were presented with the Erskine House Award by Deputy Lord Lt Colonel Christopher Campbell for both their performance and presentation.

The routine, performed alongside the Army Cadets, was composed of a combination of 18 drill movements, memorised and given as commands by the squads drill instructor.

Flight Sergeant Henderson of 383 Alloa Squadron commented: “We are absolutely delighted for the cadets on their latest achievement and for all their hard work in preparing for this event.

“They all worked extremely hard to prepare for the competition and have shown that hard work really does pay off.”
