TWO men have been seriously injured following an alleged hit and run attack in Menstrie last week.

Police were called out to Hazel Avenue after receiving reports of serious assault last Tuesday (25 August).

It is believed one of the victims was struck by a car during the attack and taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert.

Neither male is thought to have received life-threatening injuries.

Officers later arrested a 33-year-old, said to be from Tullibody, and charged him with attempted murder and assault.

He appeared from custody at Alloa Sheriff Court on Thursday (27 August) where he made no plea of declaration.

The accused was then released on bail to return to court at a later date.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed: “Police in Forth Valley arrested and charged a 33-year-old man in connection with an attempted murder and assault to severe injury.
