THERE was plenty of fun for all the family at the annual Sauchie Gala Day.

The event, organised by Sauchie Active 8, kicked off at noon on Saturday 23 August when the Bowmar Pipe Band led the parade from the local CAP down to Fairfield Park.

On arriving there the king and queen, Jamie Kaszta and Alix Lister, were crowned and the day’s attractions got under way.

There were a number of activities on offer which included a bouncy castle, sliders, lazer conquest, bungee run, mini roundabouts, rock ‘n’ roller, bucking bronco, Highland dancers and five-a-side football.

The bonny baby and fancy dress competitions were popular and providing some entertainment for the day was Beats of Brazil and the pipe band.

MP Gordon Banks, who was at the gala, said, “I always look forward to attending Sauchie Gala, and as usual it was very well organised. Even the weather didn’t put too much of a dampener on the day’s events and it was a great  opportunity to meet local people in a nice relaxed setting. Congratulations to the organisers.”
