Bridges at Brothie Burn, near Gartmorn Dam, and a nearby car have been vandalised over the weekend.

Damage to the small wooden bridges on the Woodland Walk near the dam has been discovered recently after a dog walker’s car was also damaged.

Several of the bridges have had their railings broken, either kicked or pushed off. In the same area, a lady parked her Peugeot 206 motor vehicle in the car park next to the public path running along the Brothie Burn at around 4pm on Sunday (21 June).

As she left her car she observed a group of six youths, both girls and boys aged around 11-15 years old. When the owner of the car returned, she found that the rear of the vehicle had two dents or scuff marks and the rear number plate had also been ripped off.

Elsewhere on the same day, at around 6pm, a Mazda motor was damaged by youths whilst travelling on Alloa’s Whins Road.

The youths were throwing stones at the car from the adjacent Hutton Park. No one was harmed, but Police Scotland says the vandals’ actions could have resulted in a serious injury to the driver or his passenger.

Anyone with any information regarding these crimes should contact Police Scotland on the non-emergency 101 number or make an anonymous report the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
