A CLACKMANNANSHIRE business has moved to a new, bigger premises.

Event equipment hire company Party People has moved to a larger, 2000 square foot showroom and warehouse and is now able to display more of the services it offers.

The business relaunched over the weekend with many people visiting.

Alloa and Hillfoots Advertiser:

Owner John Dornan told the Advertiser: “It was absolutely manic. We had an incredibly busy first day, we were absolutely non-stop, didn't get any lunch, one of them kind of days.

“There was just a constant flow of people all day, which was absolutely fantastic. We were expecting maybe a couple of dozen people, but it really exceeded our expectations.”

Party People is now located at Unit D, Schawpark in Sauchie and John said customers can now locate the showroom easier.

Alloa and Hillfoots Advertiser:

He said: “It's much better for people coming in, we can display a bit more, we've got a bit more room for people to come in and have a look.

“We supply equipment and decorations, props, for weddings, parties, events – we do corporate events [too].”

Alloa and Hillfoots Advertiser:

He explained that the business does a lot of themed nights like James Bond, Moulin Rouge, “jungle” and “under the ocean”, adding:“Really, it's just whatever the customer can imagine – we bring it to life.

“There's loads of hire companies, and to be fair there wasn't really many – if any at all – when we first started up, which was just over five years ago.

“We've got our focus squarely on getting quality products and hiring out quality, rather than just either knocking-up our own stuff or buying cheap stuff and just hiring it out for as cheap as possible.

“Which is fair enough, there is a market for that, people are just looking for cheap stuff, but we try and stay away from that as much as we can and I think the discerning customer really appreciates that.

“Especially for a wedding, for a lot of people, a wedding is a once in a lifetime event, it's an opportunity for someone to have the day of their lives – they'll never have a day like that again.”
