A FATHER and a daughter, who work at two neighbouring Sauchie care homes, both scooped accolades at a recent staff awards ceremony.

Kellymarie Jack, Beechwood Park home manager, and her dad Brian Hutchinson, senior maintenance operative at Hillview Court, work just across the road from each other on Sauchie's Main Street and both collected trophies at Caring Homes' Scottish Recognition Awards.

Daughter Kellymarie, who was nominated by six of her team members, received the Leadership and Management Award, while dad Brian won the Support Service Achievement Award.

Her boss Jackie Morrison, regional manager, said: “Kellymarie has been manager at Beechwood for just eight months, but has made many positive changes, really embracing the challenge.

“You can see staff have an open relationship and good morale this has an ongoing effect on residents and visitors.”

Hillview home manager Jane Hamilton, Brian's gaffer, said: “Brian is so obliging – he’ll do anything and always does a really good job.

“He’s well respected and liked by all. This award is very well deserved.”

The duo were also happy to share the limelight with Beechwood Park activities co-ordinator Roseanne McKinsley, who won the Meaningful Activities Award, scoring a hat-trick for care homes in Sauchie.

Kellymarie said: “Roseanne is creative and fun to be around, full of energy and always fundraising. She’s a great asset to the home.”

Furthermore, five care team members at Hillview and seven from Beechwood were presented with long-service certificates. The Beechwood long-serving team members are staff nurse Peter Dunn, 21 years, cook Margaret Rodger, laundry assistant Janet Brown, charge nurse Karen Scott-Angel and staff nurse Margrit Herfkins, all 16 years, as well as laundry assistant Connie Martin and administrator Evelyn Strachan, both 15 years.

Awarded for long-service at Hillview were staff nurse Jean Young, 17 years, staff nurse Violet Bollen, 16 years, senior support worker Lindsay Sinclair and deputy manager Maureen Grieve, both 15 years.
