A TILLICOULTRY man was arrested and charged last Thursday (19 March) in connection with the supply of heroin.
The 47-year-old was stopped and searched by officers in the town after police received a tip-off from the local community.
He was found to be in the possession of a large quantity of diamorphine, commonly known as heroin, with a maximum street value of £1840.
Community Inspector Charles Mitchell said: “Thanks to our strong relationship with residents and the information provided to us by them, a quantity of diamorphine has been removed from the community and a supplier is now in custody.
“We value our relationship with the local community very highly and will continue to work together to disrupt criminal activity in the area.” Following the man’s arrest a warrant was executed at a residential address in the Hillfoots town where phones and various drug paraphernalia, associated with the supply of heroin, were recovered.
He appeared on petition at Alloa Sheriff Court last Friday (20 March) and was charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.
He made no plea or declaration, was bailed and is due to appear again at a later date.
Those with any information relating to drug or any offences can contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where anonymity will be maintained.
