A WEE COUNTY man is facing a series of child abuse charges after being arrested by police earlier this week.
Clifford Warde appeared in private at Alloa Sheriff Court on Monday, in answer to a number of alleged sexual offences.
The 50-year-old made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.
Chief among the allegations are one count of sexual abuse of trust and one of engaging in sexual activity with a child aged 13-15.
Other charges include grooming – which involves arranging to meet a child for the purposes of sexual activity.
Furthermore, he is accused of two instances of taking, or permitting someone to take, indecent images of children, and further count of distributing indecent images.
Warde, whose general address was given as Tillicoultry, also faces an additional charge of breaching his bail conditions.
The accused will appear from custody again in court sometime next week, with a trial to be scheduled at a later date.
