A WEE COUNTY man, who appeared in court on child abuse charges last week, is facing further allegations of indecency.

Clifford Warde was brought before Alloa Sheriff Court last Monday, August 15, on a series of charges relating to abuse of children.

The 50-year-old made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.

He re-appeared on Tuesday this week with other charges now libelled against him.

When he first stood in the dock last week, he was facing one count of sexual abuse of trust; one of engaging in sexual activity with a child aged 13-15; and one charge of grooming – which involves arranging to meet a child for the purposes of sexual activity.

He was also charged with two instances of taking; or permitting someone to take, indecent images of children; a further count of distributing indecent images and a charge of breaching bail conditions.

However, Warde, whose general address was given by prosecutors as Tillicoultry, returned to court on Tuesday, the petition against him contained separate allegations.

He now stands accused of one further count of grooming, along with two counts of communicating indecently with a child aged 13-15.

The accused made no plea or declaration on Tuesday and was again remanded in custody.

He will re-appear sometime in the near future, with a trial to follow shortly thereafter.
