A FUN event will give people the chance to have their say on local projects in Tillicoultry, Coalsnaughton and Devonside this weekend.

Following a comprehensive household survey, the Tillicoultry Futures Steering Group is preparing a five-year Community Action Plan and is looking for some final input as its presenting its findings in the Devonvale Hall on Saturday.

Carrying out their research, volunteers from the group received 400 forms and gathered the views of 300 children from local primary schools.

Ewart McAuslane from Tillicoultry, Coalsnaughton and Devonside Community Council, said: “We are absolutely delighted that the residents of Tillicoultry, Coalsnaughton and Devonside have responded so well to the survey.

“It is vitally important that the five-year Community Action Plan is built on community views, and with this great response we certainly have got good feedback.

“There have also been Community Conversation meetings with many local groups to get their input.”

Local residents will have the chance to drop in, learn about the findings, vote for projects, air their views and have some fun anytime between 11am and 3pm on Saturday.

There will be free refreshments and home baking, information from a variety of local groups, displays of children's work as well as entertainment in the hall.

Caroline Wilson, a volunteer from the steering group, added: “We would really encourage everyone to drop in to the community event, even if it’s just for 10 minutes.

“Some of the issues and ideas in the survey are things we have known about for some time, but there are some surprises in there too.

“This event will be a chance for everyone to have their say in what goes into the action plan, so please come along – you will be making a difference in your community, and it will be fun too.”

Funding for Tillicoultry, Coalsnaughton and Devonside Community Futures has been provided by Local Energy Scotland and Clackmannanshire Council, with support from STAR Development Group.
