THERE was a full-blown response from police following reports of a person carrying a weapon in Coalsnaughton in the early hours of today, Monday July 24.
Armed officers and dog units were spotted by local residents in the small village after midnight with streets blocked off as the authorities carried out extensive searches of the area around Sheardale Drive.
The man or woman could not be traced, however.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman told the Advertiser: “Police in Forth Valley were called to Sheardale Drive, Coalsnaughton, just after midnight on Monday, July 24, following a report of a person carrying a weapon.
“Officers attended and the person could not be traced.
“Inquiries into the full circumstances are ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at Alloa Police Station on 101, quoting incident number 0022 of July 24.”
