TWO people have been taken to hospital following a serious road accident near Tullibody.

The incident took place on the A907 at around 6.15pm on Tuesday (7 April) right after two other minor collisions.

Traffic was tailed back for hours in both the Clacks and Stirling directions.

The more serious incident saw a black and red coloured Kawasaki motorcycle, carrying two passengers, collide with a Vauxhall Insignia.

The 61-year-old male rider and a 58-year-old female riding pillion suffered 'serious injuries' and were taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

Sergeant Andrew Thomson, from the Divisional Road Policing Unit, is keen to hear from anyone who was on the road at the time of the accident. He said: “The road was very busy following two earlier, minor collisions and there were numerous members of the public in this area.

“The motorcyclist and pillion passenger suffered some painful injuries, but were released from Forth Valley Royal Hospital following treatment.

“Anyone who has information that can assist with our ongoing enquiries into this collision is asked to come forward [and contact Police Scotland on 101].” The incident happened between the Manor Powis roundabout and Manor Loan. The driver of the Vauxhall required no medical attention following the incident.

The Advertiser understands that one of the earlier, minor collisions on the same road happened sometime around 5pm near the Gulf Service Station and involved several vehicles.
