A MAN who brandished a glass panel at his pregnant partner has been told to expect jail time if he offends again.

Barry McIntyre appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court on Thursday, May 10 for sentencing after earlier pleading guilty to two crimes.

On October 8 of last year, McIntyre, while at Gaberston Avenue, behaved in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause fear or alarm by shouting, swearing and engaging in a struggle with a female.

The charge originally contained the female complainer as a co-accused and said that they engaged in a “stand up fight” but both of those things were removed from the charge.

McIntyre’s lawyer told the court that CCTV showed the complainer behaving in a manner similar to her client.

The second charge against the 30-year-old states that on March 10 of this year, the accused while at an address on Schaw Court, Sauchie, behaved in a threatening or abusive manner towards his pregnant partner, who is the same female from the previous charge.

The charges goes on to say that McIntyre shouted, swore and brandished a glass panel at his partner, before throwing items of furniture, punching walls and act in an aggressive manner.

A section of the charge which stated the accused uttered threatening remarks, seized, pulled and pushed the female was removed.

Sheriff Shead told McIntyre, of Schaw Court, that given his record, this was his last change at a community-based punishment and custody would be the only option next time.

He was ordered to complete 270 hours of unpaid work.
