With Christmas fast approaching, we asked people on the streets of Alloa whether they had started shopping yet and what their opinions are on the Xmas craze.
Maria Miller, from Clackmannan: “I’ve done a few things online, but that’s all. I am very behind. I’ll be starting to get the food and drink later.” Sandy Stewart, from Tillicoultry: “I have not started mine. There should be a law against it, we shouldn’t be allowed to shop till 24 December. I was in Morrisons the other day and they were playing Christmas music... It’s six weeks till Christmas! It is getting far too commercialised.” Peter Kennell, from Alva: “I have not started yet, no. I will start when the wife decides. [The commercialisation of Christmas] is taking a lot of it away, I mean they are not even letting kids sit on Santa’s knee now.. It’s all money.” Veronika Jakubcova, from Alloa: “Yeah, I’ve started shopping, bought stuff for my parents and sister, but I need to do more.”
