Christmas viewing looks set to be a repeat of last year – and many other years – as mainstream channels have scheduled more than 670 hours of reruns over the festive fortnight. We asked people on the streets of Alloa what they would most like to see broadcast on TV over this festive season.

Compiled by Michelle Henderson: John Miller from Alva said: “I would like to see some great films instead of some of the programmes they do show, for example cowboy films.” Gillian Harrison from Alloa said: “Some good and humorous programmes and happy films – no violence. My favourite is Forrest Gump. It makes you cry and laugh at the same time.” Maureen MacFarlane from Alloa said: “I quite like old films and family shows. The thing is it is so commercialized now; its not a real festival celebration anymore.” Jamie Tanner from Alloa said: “The Great Escape. I think it’s a brilliant film because all the actors are iconic. I like the sentiment behind it.”
