Alloa's Kenny Wilson is continuing his training for a trek up Africa's highest peak - Mount Kilimanjaro - for Asthma UK. His latest blog covers a long trek over five Munros at Glen Ey near Braemar in one day.

This is a mammoth walk and not one for the faint hearted, this walk takes in Carn Bhac (946m) Beinn Iutharn Mhor (1045m) Carn an Righ (1029m) Glas Tulaichean (1051m)An Socach (944m).

According to Steven Fallon http://www.stevenfallon.co.uk/bhac.html you will ascend 2050m (6,725ft) cover a distance of 40km (25 miles) however he says this is a 10 hour walk/cycle - try 14 hours.

Park up in Ivervey just outside Braemar, I camped about a mile away from the start of the walk signed posted Glen Ey just next to a row recycling bins by a row of houses.

I strongly advise you cycle the 8k along track and leave your bike at Altanour Lodge (ruins) and follow the path which swoops up the side of Carn Bhac along a path that fades in and out at times, once you summit Carn Bhac start heading for Beinn Iutharn Mhor.

There are no clear paths between these mountain so get ready for a long slog through heather covered bogs.

Once you have reached the top of Beinn Iutharn Mhor summit (not easy) work your way towards Carn an Righ which has a very clear path to its summit which is also the path back down so you might want to leave your kit and just take your water bottle with you.

From Carn an Righ make your way up Glas Tulaichean, once again I couldn't see a path (maybe due to the path being covered in snow - I climbed it at the end of May) but you can plan your ascent on the way down Carn an Righ as these two Munroes face each other. Once you summited Glas Tulaichean get ready for a long walk, follow the path lined with old fence post past a small Loch and head out towards the last munro of the day pointers: - Make sure your map skills are up to scratch as in bad weather there are no clear pointers.

- Allow plenty of time for this walk and make sure you're stocked up on food and water.

- Do your homework, read up on this walk. I used http://www.stevenfallon.co.uk/bhac.html
