Dear Editor, Why oh why must the Advertiser resort to the use of slang in their editorial?
Why do you insist that police should be called cops and being jailed should be banged up etc etc? Is this an attempt by the editorial staff to dumb down the paper to the level of the idiots who find themselves banged up in the pokey by the cops?
I am sure that 99% of your readership will know what is meant when the correct descriptions are applied.
Yours, in despair of the Queens English!
Bill Mckenzie.
