POLICE have shut down a "cannabis cultivation" operation in Sauchie last night, following a successful drug raid.

Officers hit the address on Beechwood following a tip-off from the local community.

They recovered "several thousand pounds" worth of the class B drug, along with a quantity of cash.

As a result, a 57-year-old has been reported to the procurator fiscal in Alloa.

A spokesperson for the force said: "The police in Clacks are committed to tackling the supply and use of illegal drugs in our communities and this latest activity certainly demonstrates that point.

"We will always respond to intelligence we receive from communities in order to disrupt the activity of drug dealers and ensure they are brought before the courts.

"Drugs continue to blight our communities and we need the assistance of the public in order to trace and arrest anyone involved in this harmful trade."
