A BUSY community event was held at Marchglen Care Centre last weekend.

There was plenty to keep everyone entertained on Saturday, July 1, during the annual summer fun day.

The event really brought something for all the family, with vintage cars, cake and candy, tombola and stalls.

Kim Graham, senior support worker, said: "We had a good day and I would say it was quite successful.

"There was lots of raffle prizes and a lot of people were quite taken aback by the amount of raffle prizes.

"The children seemed to love the facepainting and the bouncy castle and the pony rides."

The day brought a visit from Paw Patrol characters, along with Mickey and Minnie.

There was also tea, coffee and a barbecue to keep everyone refreshed, while pipers played a few tunes.

Residents had a good time participating in the occasion and children also had the opportunity to sit in a fire engine.

The event raised around £1000 which will help fund outings and other leisure activities for those living at the centre.

Kim said it was a great day, with fun had by all, and thanked those who donated to the raffle and volunteered their time.
